How we make money

The short version

DelayPayer is free to use and reader-supported. Our checker, calculators, and claim-letter generator cost you nothing and ask for no personal data. Today, the live paid links are travel-adjacent recommendations: travel-insurance quote links from World Nomads or SafetyWing, Saily travel eSIM links, and Kiwi.com replacement-flight booking links. If you request a quote, buy, or book through one of those links, we may earn a fee or commission at no extra cost to you. Claim-firm referral links are not live right now; if they are approved later, we will label them clearly and still lead with the free DIY path where it makes sense.

What that money does and doesn't change

• It doesn't change our checker. Whether you're owed money, and how much, is a matter of regulation and the distance of your flight. No partner can touch the verdict or the figure you see.
• It doesn't buy a recommendation. We match paid links to the actual situation: baggage insurance in baggage content, connectivity in disruption guides, replacement-flight search after a cancellation, and a claim firm only if a hand-off is genuinely useful and the link is live.
• It does keep the lights on so the tools and guides stay free, with no paywall and no account required.

Our promises

• We disclose paid links clearly — right next to the recommendation, not hidden in a footer nobody reads (FTC 16 CFR Part 255).
• We tell you when you can claim yourself for free and keep the whole payout — even though that earns us nothing.
• We never file claims, take a power of attorney, or collect your personal data. We're paid by referrals, never by selling your information.
• We do not render placeholder claim-firm ads while those links are configured as inactive.

Why this model

Paid recommendations let us help the huge majority of travellers who will never pay us a cent and still keep the work sustainable. A paywall would lock out the people who most need a clear answer, and a fake "checker" that only exists to sell a contract is exactly what we set out to replace. The rule is simple: show the free answer first, then label any optional paid path in the moment where it is actually useful.
