Privacy Policy

The short version

DelayPayer is built privacy-first. Our compensation checker, calculators, and claim-letter generator run entirely in your browser, so the flight details and optional personal details you enter are processed on the page. The letter workspace lets you add a name and booking reference if you want them in the draft; leave them blank if you prefer. We do not request a passport, ID document or payment. We collect your email address only if you choose to contact us or request updates by email. We don't sell your data and we don't run cross-site advertising trackers. The detail below explains the rest.

What we collect

• Flight preparation details — processed in your browser. The checker, the calculators, and the claim-letter generator run client-side in your browser. The tools do not submit your optional name, booking reference, flight number, notes or generated letter to our servers. Moving from the checker to the letter workspace puts non-identity flight facts, including airport codes and the flight date, in the destination URL. Those URL parameters can appear in browser history and hosting request logs; they do not include your name, booking reference or notes. There is no automatic saved draft. If you download a PDF, TXT, JSON backup or calendar file, that copy is stored wherever you save it and may contain those details. A JSON import reads your selected preparation file locally. Protect downloaded copies and share them only with people you choose.
• Your email address — only if you contact us or request updates. Contact, subscription and dataset-reminder forms are separate from the flight preparation fields. If you submit an email through them, the address is sent to the relevant contact or capture service. Dataset-reminder requests may also include the tool identifier and dataset version. A recorded request or success message does not confirm that an email update has been delivered.
• Basic technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider may process standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages and protect against abuse. Any analytics we use is privacy-friendly and aggregate — never a cross-site advertising profile of you.

Cookies and affiliate tracking

We don't set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of our own. When you click a paid travel recommendation — for example World Nomads, SafetyWing, Saily, or Kiwi.com — that partner or its affiliate network may set a cookie so we're credited if you request a quote, buy, or book. That cookie is governed by their privacy policies, it costs you nothing, and it never changes what our checker calculates. See how we make money for the full picture.

How we use information

We use the little we collect to operate the site, handle requested updates, reply to your messages, and improve our guides and tools. That's it. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Third-party services

DelayPayer links to third parties — travel partners, claims firms, regulators, our email provider, and affiliate networks. We don't control how they handle data. Review their own privacy policies before you use them.

Your choices and rights

• You can ask us to stop sending requested updates at any time.
• You can ask us for a copy of, or the deletion of, the email data we hold — just email us.
• If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of the "sale" of your personal data. We don't sell data, and we'll honour any valid request — contact us to exercise these rights.

Data retention and security

We keep contact/update-request emails only as long as needed, plus a short period afterwards for our records. We take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold, though no method of transmission or storage is ever perfectly secure.

Children

DelayPayer is meant for travellers and isn't directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

International visitors

DelayPayer serves travellers worldwide. If you use the site, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
